This image taken quite a few years ago remains my favorite brown bear portrait to date. The eyes are mesmerizing! I made the image lying on my belly in the mud.

The light quantity and quality remained constant for almost 2 hours, allowing me to take these four images at exactly the same manually set in-camera exposure. The ability to vary the focal length (200-560mm) while handholding the Canon 200-400 w/1.4x proved indespensible when trying to properly compose these flight images in camera.
This morning the light was much better. There was very little wind and most birds remained perched unless we caught them bringing in food, or nesting material. We saw quite a few osprey on nests with young chicks, but I was told overall the nesting numbers were down from last year.
